Just read the same thing and came here to post it and saw your post.  The bans against hunting continue to pile up...

The ban on coyote hunting is a bad idea.

The presence of contests which glory in maximal killing and give money to those who kill the most coyotes doesn't help. It is a very stupid strategy and one that is GUARANTEED to incense nonhunters.

People who hunt coyotes should do so in the same respectful manner in which they hunt deer. This "round em up and kill em all" attitude is an absolute sure-fire way to run head-on into this kind of emotional battle.

Just another example of how they are in it for the long run.

The article isn't about banning coyote hunting, it is about banning the hunting contests.

Small bites here and there are easier to get away with.  Just like pitting user groups against each other.

Get this part taken away this time, then go after something else, maybe ban night hunting?

Maybe then electronic callers?

Then maybe any artificial sounds and lures?

But never address an outright ban on hunting them, too risky and low percentage of getting accepted, especially in heavy livestock economy driven areas.

Just chip away at it and use terms like "fair-chase" and "unsportsmanlike," remember those words about hounds and baiting here???

This is how they operate and they are patient, organized and do not turn on each other as hunters have been seen to do time and time again.

My level of sarcasm depends on your level of stupidity...

Sarcasm makes smart people laugh and stupid people mad.

:yeah:
those are the buzzwords that will be used to divide hunters  the same way "puppymill" was invented to divide dog fanciers, and "humane farming" has divided farmers and the list goes on  just wait you will see or you wont because you will buy in to the words.  I am using the word YOU in a global sense not a specific person sense.  :)

I'm in the predator world. Being a call maker. Delt with these low life people the last two years in Las cruses New mexico. They talked the city counsel into stopping our Predatormasters Banquet. The lied lied lied about every thing.. I had my life threatened on Facebook for having a coyote picture. They slashed my tires. There messed up people. This year we are in Tuscon Arizona. Rick

Will be tough to kick us out of here.

Don't matter if it's just about contests, they will do what they did with hunting cats and bears and trapping
Commercials on the wet side depicting some dead or dying yotes and it will be all over with, if not today, then tomorrow.
Hang on to your hat, we ain't seen nothin yet.
Ya wanna stop it, fight fire with fire.  Make some commercials with Fifi or Fido being ripped to shreds by a pack of yotes or a calf being pulled from it's mother by a yote.

Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

I have never heard of anybody making coyote jerky before. Anyone on here do that or tried some?

it sucks that the commission voted to do this. It won't stop them they just won't give out prizes or give prizes out at a later date under the table. Kinda like how we gotta sell guns here now

When I was stationed in Lemoore California every coyote I shot was donated to a local Filipino that ate them.
