Bravo or Davis Canvas Tent?
«
on:
December 03, 2014, 08:43:10 PM »
Looking into picking up a canvas tent for the hunting. I have come across Bravo and Davis tents. The Davis ones seem a bit cheaper which is always a plus, but Im also a big fan of quality. Id probably go with a 9x12 or something close in size. Enough for 2 people.
Anyone have any experience with either?

I think that Bravo does some pretty awesome sales at sportsmans shows, at least they used to, when it comes time for me to buy a big tent I will use them, plus they are a site sponser!
that said, you cant go wrong with either one, I know davis has a huge following and are used everywhere

I own a Davis and love it, quality is pretty good. Got mine with extra options and at their sportsman's show discounts.
If you got the extra cash you can get a better tent from Bravo for sure. Really you cant go wrong with either!

I have had a Bravo for years now and love it more each time I use it. High quality and they were super helpful in designing the tent to what my needs were. They asked lots of questions and made recommendations of what would work best based on my answers. Every suggestion was spot on.

I think Bravo probably sets the bar for quality wall tents, but I own a Davis, and I am extremely pleased with it. Davis is less expensive also.

I have a Davis tent and love it! It is 10 years old and still in great shape after all the time in the woods.

I'll take our two Davis and two Rainiers over Bravo any day.
Homeboy from Bravo needed an attitude adjustment last time we talked to him about a tent.

Get the Sportsman Show Special from Davis. Best value out there. No way would you be disappointed. Just be aware no matter which brand you choose that you need to take care of them! Proper care = a life time of enjoyment.

Thoughts on a Kodiak canvas tent from Cabelas? Then customizing it for a stove? Cost is much more ... friendly. If I needed to pack it in Id be more plausible(- the stove).

I have a 12x14 Davis tent and a 10x14 Kodiak Flex Bow. The Davis tent is a well made tent and you'll be happy with it. I'm sure Bravo makes a quality tent also. My only suggestion is get something a little bigger, especially if you drive to your hunting camp. The extra room is worth the extra weight. My 12x14 is a good comfortable camp with two cots, a stove and all your gear. There is usually 3 cots and it starts to get tight. Also on the Kodiak tent, you aint packing it anywhere but from the back of the truck to where your going to set it up. It weighs almost as much as my wall tent. But it is a awesome tent. They have a built in heavy vinyl floor so I wouldn't recommend a stove in one.
