I hunt an area in central Montana and we see a buck or two in velvet in mid Oct every year.  Some look like a normal framed buck and others are odd cactus buck.  We've shot a few and all we're missing their marbles.

My dad got one this year in MT.  He said his male parts were about 1/3 normal size.


He got it in the middle of November.
