« on: December 08, 2014, 03:50:34 PM »
When you want a …..

…. A dog that will hold point so long, you can dry your laundry on them

…. A dog that will be your best friend

…. A dog that  is so fast, it can walk on water

…. A dog that looks like no other, you get a Small Munsterlander.

Time and experience.  There are a couple Horse Hair Detanglers on the market for Horse Manes and Horse Tails - Mane N Tail and Showsheen (sp?) can be found in any farm supply store.  They are excellent for long haired dogs.  I spray the dogs the day before or just before the hunt.  The detangler doesn't eliminate all burrs from gathering, but it certainly cuts down on the total number of burrs and those that do attach come out much easier.  In addition; I carry a metal tooth hair comb in my vest.  Most farm stores will also have inexpensive horse mane combs made of aluminiun.

Really nice dogs.  That's a breed I've always been interested in learning more about.

It's the John Day east of Bend, OR.  It's an easy jaunt if you are ever staying in Bend.  Not necessarily many birds, but it is good looking country.

Cool, thanks. I have a buddy in Redmond and have hiked the Metolious, that shot looks just like that terrain.
