What happened to Coyote Madness?
« on: December 08, 2014, 07:51:17 PM »
Saw the notification, but don't really understand it.
We didn't have a permit?
What's going on?

I have a permit!! I paid something like $40.50 for small game, plus a couple bucks for the dealer fee....refused to pay for any big game or special hunt tags this year due to the state mismanaging that. Looks like I will continue to pull back a little more and refuse to buy any hunting related products in this sad liberal state. All reloading supplies, ammo and camo will be ordered online. long guns will be purchased in Oregon. No state sales tax from me from now on...

I know that it can take along time to get a permit. Months. Randy at WPHA puts in the application in August an we usually get it in November. It can be a pain. By the way Next month we will be putting on the WPHA coyote classic out of Pasco.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." WDFW is a bunch of Limp Noodles! You need a permit to hold a coyote derby that is just for Fun and bragging rights! They should be encouraging this kind of derby!  Kinda shows the root of their lack of understanding to me!  :bash:

It's the state legislature. The WDFW are just the people who enforce the law. They make recommendations, but its the ding bats in Olympia that cause all the issues.

The director shall administer rules adopted by the commission governing the time, place, and manner of holding hunting and fishing contests and competitive field trials involving live wildlife for hunting dogs. I can't say a having a contest or not will change my stance on how many coyotes should be left to roam.

https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

The commission shall attempt to maximize the public recreational game fishing and hunting opportunities of all citizens, including juvenile, disabled, and senior citizens.
