There's also a southeast combo and a northeast combo. I assume that the NE combo would include a mule deer but I'm not positive.
I know one of the choices for the SE could be a mule deer.
Then there's the 3 deer.

I think that would cover all of them.

There are seven incentive tags for deer and two for elk (for reporting by January 10).
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

But some of them are whitetail and some are blacktail. They have to be chosen ahead of time.

So out of that bunch, appears a minimum of four could be hunting the Entiat and/or Methow wintering grounds, plus however many of the incentive tags are good for mule deer, correct?

So to me it sounds like too many?  Money is really what the state cares more about, just what I'm getting.  But I could be very wrong , I'm no biologist and if the herd can support it then I guess it's ok?  :dunno:

Yes, there are only so many of each.

Maybe I'm missing something as to the intent of the post. I'm guessing you're trying to figure out how many hunters could currently be hunting in the Methow??? If so, keep in mind pursuant to RCW 77.32.565, the state can issue more tags to hunters who are terminally ill.

I just saw a facebook post from Okanagan outfitters which a Raffle tag holder just shot a nice buck. I would assume its entiat/methow area.

I had gotten several queries from raffle tag holders, and was kind of shocked at how many were out there and I decided to count.  No motive other than that.   I was surprised there were so many. Back in the day, there were TWO, pretty easy to keep tabs on.

I was offered 5 grand for Mr. Calender cover this year, but I don't do that.

If it would have been in Coaches region, we would have had a good hunt.
(To clarify, he wasn't who offered)

there's been a few guys lurking wanting to fill there raffle / gov tags.  I would have bought  bone a beer but I rather shoot a two point than play that game . So much about a hunt is the hunt and the quest. If a guy wants a giant just go to a hi fence hunt  :twocents: Good on you Doug for not giving in to the temptation maybe next year some lucky member will have that tag . ;)

Bone,

The way I read it, there are 3 raffle tags that could hunt the Swakane/Entiat/Methow

1) The 3 Deer can hunt Muledeer in any unit

2) The North Central can hunt Muledeer in any 200 unit

3) The Muledeer can hunt Muledeer in any unit

I could be missing something though

Wow, way to not give in to the money.  Hopefully you or someone close to you will draw the tag next year and he will still be available.

I'm surprised 5000 is all you have been offered.  People pay more than that to Hunt Buckrun.  I think the guy that shot the spider bull had over a quarter million invested in that elk.  I think it's great that you won't tell them :-) some trophies should be earned  the right way!   I have guided a lot of friends on hunts and have never charged a dime but none were successful without them being willing to pay the price of time,  boot leather, pack out, etc.  Guys that just want me to take them to a quick, easy big buck don't get  The opportunity to roll with me.

I was chewed out once by an auction tag holder wanting to know where "his" buck was; he would be arriving on the 22nd, needed to be home before Christmas, and he wanted a 200"+ nontypical like the previous year's auction tag holder.  When I told him the previous year's auction tag holder hunted 30+ days for his buck, he was pissed; he didn't have that kind of time, had x,y, and z auction permits in a,b and c states.  He also complained about his guide who lost the 365" class bull he wounded on the last day of his out of state auction hunt.  Peach of a guy.

Are you talking about the 200"ers that are really 170-180" or are we talking about the 230" deer that are really 200"?

I hear they are all a dime a dozen but I sure haven't seen them.  Maybe with a raffle tag I would have the patience to see them but my guess I would see one or two that go 170-180 in a month of hunting and be blessed to see something in the 200" range.  I would definitely have to have someone holding my bullets cause I would shoot the first 170" deer I saw.
