Meat color strange?
« on: December 16, 2014, 11:25:30 PM »
A buddy got his 2nd tag for deer area 6010 filled yeaterday. I was helping him cut today and we were both wondering why the mear on the top, back side of the legs was really light pink instead of red and a few of the pink sections were full of stringy white stuff. Like fat maybe.  Kindof weird. Has anyone else ever encountered this and is the meat safe or good?
Thanks!

its part of the top round if memory serves me right. Yes it is a lighter color muscle and perfectly normal.
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?
