vineyard dogs like shooting fish in a barrel
« on: December 26, 2014, 11:18:56 PM »
I have a frind who manages vinyards and orchards He tells me cmon with me I see them all the time. We went to scout it out and I made a huge mistake!  I left my rifle at home.  we get to the area and he  is telling me how it is, driving about 10mph passing row after row.  There's one! He backs up and we are having a starting contest.  The thing didn't budge, we drove on and that was repeated seven more times!!!  He said you want to go back and get your rifle?  What do you think.  Went home got my rifle and Bang!  I dropped this guy about 75yrds away.  I needed to get home but I am going back there tomorrow.   Its just to easy there the darn dogs have never been shot at!  Ever coyote we drove up on sat there.

Assumption of the worst when there is no real cause to is a big reason more people don't post more success photos.  :bash:

Do you have a round in the chamber? Is the safety on? Looks like you are pointing that at the truck? Did you shoot from the truck? I bet you were trespassing. Is that your rifle? Did you violate the law by not registering the transfer? Did you chew your food 87 times before swallowing?

Sheesh....some people..........DID HE SAY HE WAS?

Wow! A guy drops a shuttle reminder of something that we are tempted to do and you jump all over them! I would say that there may be why people don't post on here more then they do. He didn't say he did, just hope your not. We all have to watch one another's backs in this sport in today's day and age.  :twocents:

Good job! Nice Pic!
Note: When hunting the Vineyards from a boat, all forward motion from your engine must have stopped.

Why is it grapes are toxic to my dog? (I've heard this), yet coyotes eat the heck out of them?
Pavement, crowds and inaccurate rifles...
Thanks anyway.

Looks like an orchard not a vineyard. Coyotes love apples.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." I have a few vineyards I do some control at when I have time. They do eat grapes and the drip lines to the extent of thousands a year. But like Brody said, they love Apple's when other foods are hard to find.
