First, thanks for posting this.

Second, this is a good one to really hammer CNW, HSUS, and other groups pressuring WDFW and even the Fed to protect "endangered wolves." They don't like it when someone points out to them that another more endangered species is now threatened by their policies regarding wolves. Many people don't even know about the caribou.

Good news for wildlife management on a macro level. At what point do we let one animal species ruin the health, long term stability, OR EXISTENCE of another species. Glad to see a proactive measure is being taken.

"...hunting and trapping hasn't work" (with the wolves). No surprise there.  Unfortunately wolves will not be controlled by hunting/trapping alone. History has proven that already.

Hopefully it is not to late ...I wonder if they will ever realize the mistake they have made ? The good thing about this is they can kill Washington Wolves in BC

The livestock industry is and will be the hardest hit by the wolves.  If the wolf groups can come up with real compensation for livestock losses then and only then will the wolf population increase to any degree.  Right now all the livestock owners get is a head nod and potential compensation.  The wolfies tell the news media they are compensating the livestock owners which rarely happens.  Most all the the cattlemen have observed and know others that have lost cattle so just lock and load and don't even consider reporting anything.  The wolves have moved into the Republic and Oroville area but they are running into very inhospitable habitat. 
  Looking at other states and the potential growth of wolves we should be doubling our wolf population every year.  Last year I believe WDFW said it increased by one.  What a joke!  Ever wonder where the others went to?

Hmmmmm, I wonder why it's a big deal now, since they've know about the wolves and caribou in BC for years ? I've known about the caribou in the Selkirks for at least 14 years.

Not as many wolves 14 years ago. Less impact. It may be too late but I'm glad they are starting to do something.

I know. But they could of done something before there were only a couple/few caribou left. It's to bad things have to be studied to death when it's darn near too late to do anything right...

It's amazing how some animals are more "privileged" than others....it's stuff like this that gives me little confidence in our state/general public to protect our wildlife
