Cooler to store meat (wyoming)
« on: January 29, 2015, 03:57:40 PM »
Planning on hunting wyoming in southwest wyoming near cokeville leaning towards that Bridger Teton natl forest. We will be there for the second half of september, for 10 plus days. We need to find a place to take our meat out of the back country and hung in a cooler somewhere nearby. Any suggestions? Anyone personally know of a place nearby?

Green River's a long ways away.  There used to be a place in Afton and Kemmerer, but it's been many years since I boomed over there.

I will see if the new guy at work has some good intell on this cooler question, he just moved here from Kemmer and he lived there all his life. You guys would FREAK at his deer pictures :drool:He said it was kinda like what washington has got going with lots of little crapper bucks, the game department had a open mic kind of event and listened to te hunters,he said it turned around very quickly and the antler quality went back up to par with what had been the norm in about 5 years.Their solution was 4 point or better for adults and a 2 point and under option for youth and those over 70 with a bag limit of 2 bucks for the youth and old guys. The picture his buddy sent him this year was a really nice buck,7x6 Mule deer with a 33 inch spread and medium weight antlers.
