I need to get a good upland vest. I was really set on getting a wing works but decided I don't want to do the water bottles it comes with, I want to use a water bladder. And as far as I can tell the wing works doesn't have a place to put one besides in the bird pouch. I like both the badlands and tending vests. Anyone have experience with them? What one would you recommend? Or would you suck it up and get the wing works ?

My WingWorks is a little older but last time I checked you could fit one in the center water bottle holder near the game bag. They even sell bladders for it as well as items to secure it. See below...

If the side water bottle holsters bug you they can be removed.

The llbean technical, which is essentially the mothers blows both of them outta the water!  I have two Mother Tech and one llbean. They are by far the most efficient. Another vote for the LL Bean Tech. I run a bladder for myself and two 32oz bottles for the dog. My buddy runs a Wingworks, which has silly big shell pouches, and likes it, but i'll take my padded shoulder straps anyday. I also tend to be gone from the truck all day and it has room for everything and some.

my preference is the wing works. I have often used a bladder under the vest itself for long walks. good luck. there is no wrong decision.

Agreed about the gimmicks on the Centerfire vest, was looking more to the San Carlos or Upland vests

Just remember, the intent behind all that water holding capacity isn't all about you. If you have a dog with you it's for them too and however hard you work on your hunt they are working harder. Probably stating the obvious there but I know I've emptied out a couple of bottles for my dogs before on hotter extended days.

I have the Buck's Bags upland strap vest and I love it.
Came with a hydration bladder.
Just order a size larger than you think you need.

Man, I cant speak highly enough of Wing Works. I agree with Aspenbud, this pack is made for long, tough walks and I use every ounce of water capacity to keep my dog hydrated. It will easily hold a bladder, and with all the weight from the water it wears well and is straight up bulletproof.
