The number of cow tags on the dry side really didn't take a significant drop as I expected.  My understanding of these proposals is they are established for 3 yrs?  Can they adjust the number of permits easily, most guys I know who drew the permits last year and put any real effort tagged out.

ML is getting screwed again. Now down to 7 days and no meaningful antlerless optys. Still spike only in the choice 300 gmus. AR is really sitting pretty now, proof that whiners do win.  :chuckle:  AR season should have been capped at 10 days for elk and left ML to start first wknd of Oct.

I don't agee with the archery hunters being whiners. With all the new units being open to mz you the only way you couldn't fill your tag would be if you didn't go. I do t want a pissin match. But for mz to get that much opened up I think that should tell Ya who did

You don't have a clue my friend.    Muzzy guys have sat by quietly for a very, very  long time.

Anyone know if they will ever give a late season "buck" permit in the Entiat?   In this lifetime?     :bash:

I do know I've watched how mz slaughtered the herds in glenwood when the snow was deep shooting here of cows. I was there with my son and we got one to. There is nothing primitive about the muzzleloaders now and I feel that to some extent about bows but you still need to get close with a bow and most of the muzzleloaders can shoot accurately to  200 yards. I'm not Haten on you but when they change it to spike only this could be why when counts go bull ratios go down. Again good for you guys

This "muzzleloader guys" and "archery guys" thing annoys me more than anything. If a person feels like the muzzleloader season is better, then buy a muzzleloader tag and hunt that season. Same with archery. If you like the timing of the season, or the units that are open, buy an archery tag! We are all free to choose whichever one we want each year.

Yeah when I saw the archery whiners post I knew I was on hunt wa.  Where we bash all other user groups until that groups seasons and oppurtunities become better than that of our own and we switch user groups.

Here the AR guys are whining (again) because a ML hunter speaks out about the incredibly unjust disparity between the seasons.  :dunno:  Heres AR guys whining last year. "Labor day is too hot; the bulls aren't talking; the moon phase is off; it's too dry out; it's not raining - it is raining; ewe, there's bugs!, the days are too long, etc".   :hello: I am glad some of the westside units are opened up tho.

I wasn't whining. Just my opinion I could care less what part of September it is. My trophy room speaks for itself I think changing both seasons may have negative affects in a few years.
I think its good you guys were able to get more units but I think it might have been to many.. I think there will be less archery hunters now so thats good. Anyway My wife is cooking my September 5th 7 point archery bull backstrap and its time to eat.

This sounds like a preseason excuse. To me it looks like there will be ample opportunity to harvest with a muzzy.
