Well, that all sounds exciting enough but I will not be accessing via the lake. I'll be up the road system trying to wear out my Swarovskis. Hopefully I'll see plenty of deer. Not really sure what to expect as far as numbers of animals. Sure would be nice if someone on here had drawn this tag before and could offer up some of there experience. I'm sure weather plays a HUGE part in the success here...

Get up there sometime soon and drive the roads and get the lay of the land... that will be your biggest tool is knowing what roads go where, how high/low, road blocks...etc  There are some resident deer in there as well but if you hit the migration you'll be seeing rediculous amounts of deer.  However if you pass on a buck realize that you will likely NEVER see him again as a lot of that area is migration route instead of actual winter range...  Good Luck!

Thanks. I've already been up there and driven all the roads. I'm sure it will all look different with snow on the ground, at least I'll have a decent handle on it. I can't wait for November!

Lots of snow right now at 4000 ft... could push deer down early but I'm guessing they'll stay in the deep timber till they're forced onto the winter range for the rut...  Good luck!

Slide Ridge has some great roadless backcountry at the northwestern end.  There is also some good road access on 25 mile Creek from Chelan to Entiat.  Preston Creek off the Entiat also gives some good access.  Where you hunt is really going to depend upon snow depth.  Try staying a little above the snowline for the better bucks.

george, If I remember right the preston creek drainage is not in the slide ridge unit.  However if you hike in a ways you can reach the unit.  Not sure if that is what you meant just trying to give ya a heads up.  I had the tag last year, so you guys with the tag send me a pm if ya have some questions.  Good luck, should be a good year!

Yep, coupled with 8 days for bull elk in September, 4-5 days for deer, and a 5 day high hunt guiding for work...  It's been a rough fall...  :IBCOOL:
This fall is my "senior present" to myself after graduating last spring so no Mexico or Senior Trip for me, I'm just hunting my ass off.  Can't wait!
