He is a pretty nice guy. Decent prices and great selection. His kid runs another store he has, I think it is in Fla. That taxi will assist you on sheep anywhere in the world for free if you get drawn. He is a "go to" guy on sheep. Ronnie Jenkins.
Ron Jenkins of Augusta, a taxidermist and bighorn fancier, grew up in the
Augusta area; his family had a cabin in HD 424. He estimates he has been on
more than 100 sheep hunts throughout North America and he loves sheep hunting
so much, he guides friends who have sheep tags.

I have a couple of questions about this game range
as an out of stater traveling over to shed hunt on 5/15
curious and may combine my idaho deer scouting trip with a side trip to the game range
1) Do you need anything as far as a permit or pass to get in and dry camp ?
2) ATV restrictions passes or permits ?

If I remember right we didn't need anything. Atvs just need to stay on the road. Really anywhere youcan get with one you can usually get a truck there. There is one area that going down hill u woudlnt attempt if its been pouring rain like last year. I gave up and turned around. Still not sire how I didn't get stuck.

It's beautiful country. Tons of people. Even talked to a guy that came up all the way from Pennsylvania.

My mom calls it a rock pile, she was born on a ranch in Chateau. I call it heaven. There are a lot of things she is wrong about re: Montana.

got home last night from scouting idaho and it was still 300 miles to go to sun river
alone was not too much fun after about 4 days

Well I'd say I'll see you there but.. Changing it up this year.. Going to the Blackfoot... About 100 miles closer... But if we don't like what we see Sunday we'll head for Sun River... Good luck to all! Hope you find brown town!!

Before they open the gate you'll camp along the road. After they open the gate you'll shed hunt and then when you feel like it move your camp on to wherever you want. Its beautiful country over there and you're going to love it! As long as the wolves didn't push the herds out like last year you should find some sheds.
