Tohatsu 50/35 jet?

Anyone have any exp or ridden in a sled powered by one?

i'm curious as well.  i really like the specs on them(lighter than a 40/30 yamaha).
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

The dealer told me it blows the Mercury 60/40 out of the water. Plus the merc is 71lbs heavier. I was also told it's actually only 28 hp at the jet on the merc.

Good motors.  Nissan outboards are just rebranded Tohatsu's for about 25% more $$.

Dealer told me they build the Nissan line.. Some of the mercs too

i guess in all fairness, the merc and yamahas are 4 strokes, the tohatsu is a direct injected 2 stroke.  i've seen those 60/40 mercury motors and do a double take every time, they're about the size of an older 90!

The pics I posted above are of the 4 stroke line.  I assumed the OP was comparing apples to apples.
