Fletching feathers
« on: March 13, 2015, 06:58:36 PM »
Just picked up my new longbow and I need to fletch up some arrows with feathers . It's been quite a few years and I can't remember the off set for a left wing feather . Looking down the feather from the knock should the front { closes to tip} of the feather be to the right or left of the back { closes to knock} of the feather .

To the right. Nock end of feather is on left.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Perfectly opposite.  That is for right wing. :sry:

Just wanna let you know, when you hold the feather facing away from you(backside closest to you) the curve of the wing is the same as when holding out your hand. Your right hand curves to the left just like a right feather.

May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Doesn't actually matter since the arrow doesn't spin till the nocks already cleared the riser in most cases. I shoot right, left and straight and all group the same.
