Big thanks to Spur and shootemup
« on: January 04, 2009, 10:18:46 PM »
Geoff and John were gracious enough to host a few of us for a goose hunt.  Plan A became plan B, then C when we found groups already set up in the field John had permission to hunt but with the access these guys have we found another field that worked pretty well.  Turned out to be a day of running traffic on big geese and we did well for not being on the X.  If we'd have shot better on the first group we would have had a few more in the bag.

My son and I had a great time, first chance this year to shoot big geese, and we really enjoyed it.  The ride home over the hill was "interesting" to say the least, what should be 3 hours turned into better than 5, snowed from E-burg all the way home.

I'm sure I can speak for everyone else when I say how much we appreciated your hospitality.

Let me first just echo what Dan said, and say a big thank you to Geoff and John. I had a great time. You guys know how to get it done for sure. Too bad my firing pin was froze up on the first volley, cause i'm sure there would have been at least two more on the ground  :chuckle: I really hope you guys continue to kill big geese, and John I hope you decide to shoot some ducks someday too.  :chuckle:

Secondly, I wanna thank you Dan for lettin me ride over with you and Jake. Without that, I would have been stuck over here on the wet side all day. Like I told Jake, he's lucky to have a Dad like you to take him hunting. I also noticed you were always makin sure he was comfortable, and not getting too cold, not hungry or thirsty etc. I'm sure that makes hunting a lot more fun experience for him. I was impressed.

Thanks again everyone who showed up, you guys are all top notch in my book. Even though you hate ducks John.

Thanks again everyone, I had a great time.  We will have to do it again sometime, next time I am making sure I don't have to leave early.

Dan, I hear you on the ride home.  That was not fun at all.
