Looking for a new sight
« on: April 02, 2015, 06:41:49 PM »
So right now I have a tru glo 5 pin sight and the pins are adjustable on the side with little Allen screws. Now I'm looking to get a new 5 pin sight but I want to eliminate the Allen screws on the side. Is there a multi pin sight that's adjustable some other way? My pins never really seem to lock down with them and always move more then I want. Any suggestions are helpful, thanks guys.

Any sight from Spott Hogg... I'm a fan of the single pin Hogg Father however.

Black Gold has the best customer service I have ever experienced.  They just sent me a brand new replacement.  They have my business for life!

The Black Gold Rush is on my bow. Fairly inexpensive at around $120 and a good sight.

Spot Hogg. I've owned lots of sights and the machining, fit and finish, durability, and adjustability of the spot hoggs is the best IMO. Tru-balls axcel sights are close but thier pin brightness isn't as good to me, so I put the hoggs above them. I can see my Spot Hogg pins from before legal light to after, and once you get used to the pin adjustment they are the most adjustable, solid pins out there. Once set, they will not move. Plus they have the aiming wire running down the center to aim with while shooting between pins, and to line your pins up with, which is nice. The fibers are fully contained as well. The only thing I think spot Hogg could improve is the level. A slightly bigger, yellow level would be a great addition to them.

I have had the same problems with the black gold.  -although it's a good sight it doesn't have the independent pin adjustments.  the spott Hogg brand should have a five pin that will micro adjust each pin.

Spott Hogg and Black gold are great sights. But they are a little expensive. Trophy Ridge makes a great $90 5 pin sight. Also trophy ridge makes an Awesome sight called the React Pro sight which makes it so you only have to sight in 2 pins and all your pins will be on. Just my  :twocents:

Just went through this with my bow. Replaced a 4 pin True Glow with the Spot Hogg 7 deadly pins. What a difference. Took a little bit to get used to the fine adjustments but it really is nice once it is set up. I love the wire to aim between pins also. Really improved my performance on the 3-D range.
