Pope's Turn!!!
« on: January 02, 2009, 10:21:19 AM »
Are you following me around Slider?  :)  I think this is the biggest cali ram I've ever seen in person.  I count 8 rings, maybe he has another year or two...

No, this is definitely not a 190 ram.  The world SCI record for a cali ram is 186 I think.  I don't think he is that big.  I do think he is 180 or over though.  A nice ram.  I'd love to see if there is a picture of a bigger cali ram in WA...

How come the first picture is the exact same as Slider's first picture of the same ram?

If you look closely it isn't quite the same.  We were standing right next to each other so they are pretty similar...

You won't believe where this ram lives passion...   :chuckle:

You have to be at the Grand Slam convention to pull the tag this year.  It is in Las Vegas in February and it isn't in my budget...  If you flew down there and dropped about $500 on raffle tags you might have a damn good chance...

Meeting Pope at 4:30am to hike in and get some more pics of this big guy tomorrow.  We are packing lunch and plan on staying on him all day. We have 6 batteries, 34gigs of CF cards a 70-200 f/2.8 and a 600mm f/4 lens, plus a 1.4 extender, lets hope the weather cooperates.

Spent 8 hours behind the glass and hiking.  116 photos today.  Half are ewes.  Half are of a few rams.  One really big one...  I'll see if I can get a few pictures on here later when I get a few moments.
