Sitka Jacket
« on: April 07, 2015, 10:02:29 AM »
Thinking about getting a Sitka waterfowl jacket. If you have one, which one did you go with? What do you like/dislike about it? Also, please do not "inform" me that I can find another brand of jacket for half the price and the same quality...... :chuckle: Thanks!

I got a delta and like it. I will say it fits me loose around the chest and sides. I'm a big guy so I don't think I should have that much extra space. Its probably for when I do the layering thing later in the year. But it does keep me dry and all that. I'm getting the duck oven soon to.

I've got the duck oven jacket and love it.  It is very comfortable, not that bulky and keeps me very warm.  The only issue with it, is that it's not water resistant, so unless I wear a shell over it (which can get bulky), it doesn't really work on it's own, on rainy days.

I use a Hudson jacket.  I wish they would have made it more a wading jacket length like the Delta though.  Besides that, the shell pockets are a little tricky to get my hands into.

I have the Pantanal jacket and bibs along with various under layers. I love mine, always dry, I also sweat a lot less. I picked mine up in December and wore it through the late season, and everyday springer fishing. It's great. The Pantanal series is uninsulated so you will have to layer up. I have been wearing this setup everyday for almost 4 months. I love it.

I Love Sitka gear! Actually I went a little crazy last season and purchased more than I need. I made a mistake and took my wife to cabela's and she got to see the price tags on Sitka. I explained it's the price you pay for top quality. Anyways, that being said I have a brand new Sitka Boreal jacket size large, with tags. Priced over $600. I'd like to sell for $450. I live in Spokane area. I'am sold on Sitka best hunting clothing out there IMHO.

LoL, I hear that! I went from sitka to Kuiu for my big game clothing, but am really liking the Sitka waterfowl line! I think I am leaning towards the Hudson Jacket. Too bad I wear a medium!!!!

Darn! I can tell you that this is an extremely warm jack. Our weather wasn't cold enough to wear it last season. The Hudson should be real nice!

I have the Delta Wading Jacket and really like it.  I wear my old redhead jacket liner underneath late season when its gold.  I don't really like how high the hand pockets are but I keeps my hands out of my pockets and ready for when the ducks come in.  I also hated that the hood was not removable so I took the jacket into a good tailor and had him add a zipper to it.  Looks and works great now.
