Start 'em young....

Had to share my barely 4 year olds first duck trip. What a great time. He kept wanting to shoot all my decoys.

Brought back all those memories of being freezing cold and miserable with my dad. He is a lot tougher than I was...
Also was a great lesson for me. I realized that the next group of years hunting are going to be a bit different. I would have moved to another spot where the birds were pouring in, normally a 15 minute move, but with the kid it would have taken me an hour and wasnt worth it...PATIENCE IS THE WORD FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS.

Excellent... You will never leave the house hunting with out him...  And yes you will gain lots of patience.  It gets 1,000 times funner when he is a teenager and brings his friends into the blind.

Yep, wont be long he'll be claiming every bird that hits the ground as one he shot.   :)  Mine is 13 and still claims to hit every one, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Xavior will be 2.5 this hunting season...  not too far to go if this little man can tough out duck hunting - AKA freezing ur arse off...

Only duck hunting Ive done was in FLORIDA :bash: and I still forse...  that lil guy might be tougher than me!

Great pics and I hope we all get to watch him grow into a lil hunter on his own!

 That's great and it says a lot about you it takes a great sportsman to give his hunting time and game of any kind a pass while teaching young ones to hunt.
 Those that know me know my story but I have to say that I have a lot harder time with these kids, then I did with the first two. The girl is 9 and the boy is 11 we went thru hunters ed and got a couple of youth 870, turkey (have a shorter barrel) 20ga.  But I'm not doing right by them at this age I should be moving around reset the deeks with wind changes and so on, more then I do.They need to know these things at their age. Turned 61 yesterday but that's a cop out I should have been throwing clays
shooting paper and so on.At least I checked  their dominit eye   and the girl has her weak side being dominit
 So good for you and all other hunters like you.
