Potholes wind and walleye
« on: April 09, 2015, 08:15:17 PM »
Heading over to the potholes for walleye this weekend. It's supposed to be windy up in the 20's but does anyone know where to fish in a 20' sled and get away from the wind and still hook some eyes? Any good reports from there?

It probably depends most on which way the wind is blowing, S or SW wind, plenty of fishing by Mardon, if I remember correctly.  Not sure about other areas, though I caught some way up in the NE end by town once, so might do OK up there in an E or W wind.

I am sure there are others with more experience than me though.

Most boats have been trolling Crab Creek up by the power lines.

If its blowing like that its best to go to Lind coulee and fish it. If its too bad to control the boat fishing in Lind coulee then go to soda lake and try it there or fish one of the seep lakes for trout.

Lind Coulee is where I would try in high winds. Be careful on the main lake, it is forecasted to blow like crazy tomorrow. If it blows like it is forecasted, 3-5 footers stacked close together can churn up quick. Maybe launch at Rd M launch so you don't even need to mess around on the main lake.

Take HWY 17 south of Moses approx. 5 miles turn Right on road M (south side of Basic American Foods). Launch is at the bridge just past rd 6 SE.
