Yeasturday purchased  my Montana black bear tag!!! :IBCOOL:
Does anyone else going to hunt bears this spring in Montana,and what part of the state?

I payed 380 for the tag
I do hunt in Montana in spring for black bears for couple years now
And only last year i got lucky  :tup:
I do all my hunt NW ,found a good area last year.Thanks

Ill be leaving on 16th of May.Last year i was there one week earlier and it was still lots of snow in places. Good luck to you!

Check your snow levels guys, there isn't much at all.
Lots of bear sighting already.
I usually like the last two weeks of May, but its early this year.
Have seen 6 bears already,
roads are grassed in already

I still think the best time is mid May till the end of bear season.I tried the first day of opening...lots of snow.Tried beginning of May...not as much snow but still good amount.But its all depends on the area you hunt.Thats just my thoughts.

I'm down in AZ for another week or so, and this photo is killing me John! I'll be hunting from Gardiner to Belt and every where in between. Not a lot of snow in the paradise valley and bear sightings have become more and more numerous.
