Looking at the Big Game Regs. and it appears that all of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness is available for the High Hunt (even the addition).  No campfires above 4000 feet.

The way I read the regs the alpine lakes GMU is 249.  under the description 249 is east of the pacific crest trail meaning the new areas are not a part of the high hunt in september.  Not saying I'm right, I usually have to read it a few times to completely understand.

High hunt has nothing to do with gmu boundaries. It's all about wilderness boundaries.

High Buck Hunt is in the Wilderness areas. Not the GMU boundaries.

With the expansion of the Alpine lakes wilderness area does that increase the high hunt area?
Yes.

So basically new black tail high hunt opportunities? Cool for some. I'm not a fan of more wilderness at all, in fact, I'm completely anti but I guess this is a silver lining for a few people. I wonder how the hunting is in the area, bucks might be used to hanging out there during the high hunt season not expecting the traffic. Could be interesting.
