my 6.0 gets 22. :chuckle: ten in town and twelve on the road

That is very funny, but sadly, close to the truth.

My 2014 GMC 2500HD with the 6.0 gets 11 around town, 15 on the hiway, and 8.5 - 9 pulling my 25' trailer over the hill.

My 2004 2500HD w/ 8.1L averages 12 around home combined.  It did 14.5 when I went hunting in California last October and 13.2 when I went to Montana last month.

Towing 7500 in my Tundra I get 7-9 mpg, depending on my speeds and gas used (10%ethanol vs non).  Empty I'm 15-17 on i90.  About 1mpg worse than my gm 5.3 in my Yukon.  I'd feel comfortable towing 10000 behind the tundra, more than that I'd really worry about the wheel studs and frame.  Power train has no problem though.  I'm actually really debating getting rid of my beloved tundra for a 1 ton so I can tow about 12000 or haul an in bed camper, but really do not like the domestic options these days.... And I'm an old Ford lover!  Might just have to build me the ultimate 1979 f250 super cab with 460....  Get rid of the electronic bs....

so how good would the tundra tow a 7000 pound boat and trailer?
Tundra guys will tell you whatever you want to hear  :twocents:
Haha so will chevy and ford guys.  Nothing new with this it happens in every one of these posts..  Everyone has their reasons to have their vehicle in which most people think that why theirs is the best.   What's best for one person is most likely not going to fit what the other person wants or needs.
but mine still is and will always be better than your turd herder...  :chuckle:

If you want gas mileage Tundra (IMO) is not the way to got, sold Toyotas before, and the best i have ever heard seen is 16/17 FWY, I own a 14 Chev, I get 20-23FWY, my buddy owns a 14 Eco Ford, he's getting 22-24FWY. Towing anything is going to lessen the MPG's obviously. I have a 19' SmokerCraft, and I still get 14-17MPGs.
Is it waterfowl season yet..............

I have a 2014 Silverado double cab with the 5.3 Liter and 3.73 axle ratio. I get around 20 mpg on the highway. Used to be better before I put a tall canopy on it. I am disappointed with the mileage when towing. I was hoping for better. I towed an enclosed utility trailer to Wyoming and back last year and averaged around 12 mpg.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

12mpg towing is nothing to be disappointed about. That's actually pretty dang good!
