Mallis Cow Tag
« on: June 17, 2015, 02:04:25 PM »
Hello all

My disabled father in law and I drew the Mallis Cow tag this year and I want to get into the field early this season. I took a drive down from (westport- I'm stationed there with the coast guard) last Monday and I did see that there is a pretty slim amount of public access. I did notice the PowerLine that runs pretty strong through the north east area of the area, but if anyone has some advice on public lands or ideas for that area please and thank you.

Brandon

Which tag did he draw?  More specifically which dates?   It should be a fairly easy hunt, in December and January, it is pretty much just a field hunt at a farmers field along HWY 6, or in a clearcut just off HWY 6, which is perfect for a hunter with a disability.  Lots of elk with hoof disease (hoof rot), make sure you guys know what that means.  Really it should be a great hunt.
