Loan it to me!!!  I have a great spot for one and will probably never kill a bull.     One of these days I am going to mount a cow so I can enjoy an elk mount.   :chuckle:

My advice is to wear large antlers and bugle loudly.  Good luck in your quest. :chuckle: :chuckle:

The good thing about bringing up this subject is that I'm going to jinx myself and NOT get a bull so I won't have the dilemma after all. :chuckle:
Your supposed to be negative going into it, then you'll get one....reverse physycology!

I think the suggestion ofTanning the cape and doing a Euro mount is valid. Euro's are pretty sweet and no less of a trophy for preserving the memory. They look pretty cool in a garage as well

Is there any way of you ever owning a larger home?  I was fortunate to kill an awesome 6x6 for my first bull but didn't have the area to put such an animal in the home I had at the time.  So, I just had the cape dry tanned for safe keeping and mounted it 6 years later.  Not sure if this is at all a possibility but it worked great for me!!!

The next deer mount I get will be replacing the family picture :chuckle:

Tanning the cape and doing a euro mount does sound like a viable option, although I don't know that I'll ever want to load up a wall with more than one elk shoulder mount.  I've seen some folks do that and, unless they have a huge house, it can really take over the living space.

I've suggested to my wife that I could put one over the bed since the master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling but you might guess what her reaction was to that.  Maybe I'll do that anyway and pay extra for the taxidermist to put in moving eyeballs and a sound track that does cat calls when she walks through in the buff. :chuckle:

This will be a moot point if I don't score a big bull but I've been thinking about a very possible dilimna I may face in elk season this year.  I have a quality archery bull tag in an area I know to hold big bulls and the season timing has improved my chances over previous years.  Here's the problem: I have a big bull mount at my place and there is absolutely no good location for a second.  If I happen to score I want to have the decision already made as to whether to take it to a taxidermist.  What would you do? :dunno:

Sounds like an addition is in order or a new shop.  I would start making arrangements with a contractor or buddy at this time.  Don't let small things like space hang you up.   :yike:
