Any good spot on west coast for carp shooting?
« on: June 30, 2015, 04:01:37 PM »
I know potholes is the best but since it takes me 3hrs every time to get there I couldn't afford to go there every week. So any suggestion on seattle area? Btw, I don't have boat so I could only shoot from the shore. (if anyone plans a trip to potholes, I'd be more than happy to share the gas cost and make some new friends :))

Thankfully not...that I know of?

Look up bowfishing and you should be able to make some friends

Happy, I grew up over there and I am so happy those mud fish are not on the west side. Please don't plant them here!!  (They were planted in the Columbia system, and are permanent now. Stupidest move ever.)

Green lake has a lot last I heard. Don't think you could shoot there though.

Far end of Lake Sammamish is loaded with carp. Closest to Redmond, launch is in issaquah. Not sure of the regs but they are there.

If you can get something to float on like a paddleboard the redmond slough is packed with carp. WFWD considers carp an invasive species and there is no bag limit or licenses needed. better to go at night as to not disturb the dog walkers and the many anti hunting looky-loos. Heres a picture of one i plugged a few weeks ago. :twocents:

There are a couple new lakes that are going to be opening on the west side for the removal of grass carp. These were planted and now have overstayed their welcome. You'll have to wait until April 1 but they should be full of fish.
