The tides were raging last weekend. Should be a lot better this weekend.

I'm debating where to fish this weekend, the west side of SJI is one strong possibility.   Question, what launch would be best to get there from the Anacortes/Deception Pass area?  Is the one at Cornet Bay okay?  Or stick with Washington Park?  Normally when I fish the San Juan's I'm already in the islands, this would just be a one day shot.  Would like to shorten the run as much as possible.

WaCous, I think you are shorter to Eagle Point from Coronet Bay.

I've never launch at coronet bay, but I heard the launch is substantially nice than the one at Washington park--especially at low tide.

Cool, thanks guys. Same here, I've never launched their either.  Sounds like it will work fine though.

Washington Parks sucks with just one dock. Cornet bay has 6. It's still somewhat of a parking nightmare, get there early!

I had a problem once, came in by myself and the a-holes wouldn't let me in to the dock, they just kept dropping people off and getting their rigs without giving me a chance.  Someone said, "that's the way it works, first come first served to the ramp...."  Good thing I didn't have a shotgun along, they might have had a hard time making it to the dock with big holes in their stinking hulls.   >:(

Aluminum thunderjet, blue? My cousin and her husband caught a 21 yesterday and his favorite spot seems to be Reef point after I showed him how to fish it. Get Dr.Death and the double glo/UV flasher on there ed and HAMMER it.

WildW, older couple, think it was a fiberglass boat, they lifted out at Skyline Marina.

Limited on pinks after losing a decent king this morning.

Thanks for the hints... can't just bop off to the tackle store from here....   :chuckle:  Do those DD's come in different colors?  Heading out in about 10 minutes with some coyote spoons and coho killers.  It's the speed, depth, direction, etc that are harder to get figured out.    ;)

Cornet Bay launch worked great, thanks guys.  Still a long way out there, but water was nice today.

Good looking fish! This summer seems like it is shaping up to be much better than last year.
