Is there a moose population in GMU 204 or should I look more in 101 and 105 ? I have heard more moose in the eastern units.

There are moose in all those units but I'd dive into 101 and never look back.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Start with your maps by looking at lakes and scouting those areas first.  It's a good way to familiarize yourself with moose sign.  There will be innumerable piles of moose dung on south slopes and roads but that is all from winter range so don't fall for it.

Get into marshy aspen and alder areas.  Get over there a couple times if at all possible before season.  It will make it much less frustrating if you already have areas mapped out.  If you get stuck, ask for help.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Eastside of Sherman Pass at Trout Creek is a good spot to start. There are swamps just about all the way to the top of the pass.

There is a good area in 105 that never gets touched by moose hunters. The extreme north eastern part of 105. Message me if you want directions .

If you're talking about what I think you are, you need the permit from IEP ? Correct ?
