Lake Wenatchee Sockeye
« on: July 13, 2015, 07:22:26 PM »
Anyone have any insight here? Will this fishery open this season?

Last I heard the fish were dying off in the warm water below tumwater canyon and only 5000 or so fish had made it up above the dam.

I hoping the fishing would open Saturday but now the rumor is no opening at all?

5000 so far , needs a lot more. But it usually doesn't open till last week of July / first week of August. Dam counts so about 50,000 fish stopped to go up the river there

Look at the dam counts, they netted almost half the sockeye between bonneville and McNary dam. 460 down to 260. That doesn't seem right, specially cause there wiping out half of the Idaho run to

Man...I was hoping Lake Washington would ease the pressure at Brewster. I have a nephew that wants to fish Brewster Sunday. Maybe I will persuade him into a walleye trip.

I can't imagine they'll open it. The run over the Tumwater dam has basically stopped, and there's no relief in sight as far as temps/ rain.
