Does anyone know when they are likely to hit the Puyallup?

Standard humpy gear:

:yeah: that is all we ever used.  I even caught them off Browns Point by throwing pink buzzbombs  and a Carolina Rig pink squid.

I seldom use pink, unless I'm throwing a jig into a school on the surface.  If just trolling, I go with normal green and white stuff.  The last couple weekends we've caught all we want with a basic green or white/glow flasher and green Ace Hi Fly or Irish Cream spoon.  My take is that kings and coho won't bite the pink, but pinks seem perfectly willing and able to bite green and white.  Why not allow yourself to catch both?

Actually pink is a very good color for kings and Coho when fished no deeper than 40' or so.

I have a question about beach fishing for pinks - Is there a certain tide that is better or worse? I have only caught one at Dash Point out of the 5 or 6 times I have gone. I do OK on the river, but I am pretty sure this is not due to my expertise.

Yes but what tide is best will depend on the particular beach.  I'm not familiar with Dash point but I'd wager that a google search would give you some info.

I have had best beach luck at high and incoming tide.  Low tide you snag more bottom.

Hooked one half way between Dash and Tacoma...using a pink 2.5 oz buzz bomb... Lost it right at the boat. It was a nice fish. We were only targeting today because we were letting our crab pots soak....Still waiting for my first pink to be landed
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

I fished with pink hoochies all the time out of Westport and cleaned up on the coho and kings, pretty much all I used.

Here, I've had best luck this year with the pearl white coho killer trolled behind a gibbs break-away dodger/flasher in green.

Landed four today in 2 hours off Reef Point Cypress Island on the way home from dropping my wife in town.

We liked to go after pinks with light gear so we were actually targeting pinks.

When it was business as usual, we'd troll green, white or just bait.

I think you would have to at least run to the far side of the bar. Maybe someone will be out today soaking a few pots and come in with a report.

Think there just hitting point no point now. Got 7 in the boat with more takedowns not even trying for them. We were even 90ft down for kings! Haven't gotten any at possession but also haven't been trying. Should be coming down soon though
