Hit up Picnic Point this morning.  Lot of fishermen, not a lot of fish. Decided to swing by Edmonds pier before I went home as well. Just to check out the pier action, and didn't fish. Nothing new to report there. Lots of people, no fish. Saw a guy fishing yelling at a guy trying to drop a crab pot on the south end of the pier. Also saw someone yelling at someone else about buzzbombs and how they weren't supposed to use them on the pier and they were illegal. I even peeked and saw his buzzbomb only had one hook. Poor guy.

I don't fish the pier, but I do enjoy the entertainment at times.  I've decided to get back into the boat scene at this point. Finally have my wife back on board :)

Saw a ton of boats out this morning, but it looked slow out there too. Anybody have a good morning off picnic point or shipwreck?

Fished ship wreck yesterday with Ed and my son. Ed limited and my son caught one, lost 3 at the boat, al, while my pole never budged  :bash:

Fished Browns point this morning from boat and watched the guys on shore limit and leave wIle we got nothing.
Moved to the mouth of the Puyallup riverbank picked up one pink, 2 long line releases   :chuckle:

Browns point is best from shore at tide change, dusk and dawn doublej.

Thanks.  I'm assuming the lighthouse shore?

Yes,  the best spot in my opinion is on the north beach.

Just know, parking is limited and the place gets popular.

I've heard.  We'll be right up the road from there playing foot golf next weekend and hope to pop over afterwards to check it out

How is the Pt. Defiance side of Commencement Bay?

Just vacuum packed 12 bags of salmon, pinks and kings. 7 more pinks are in the brine and they will be smoked tomorrow.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Interesting...we fished outside SJI yesterday and they were still super thick.  No orcas or seiners yesterday, so that may have helped.  Caught and released for a long time trying to find a different species but to no avail.  Green mini squid was best, although we caught them on everything from whole herring to a five inch cop car spoon.

Fished out of shilshole for about 90 minutes mid-morning today, and my kid skunked me 4 to 0, including a coho.  All on the green mini squid.  I tried everything else, but it was that mini squid they really wanted.

We went 3 for 7 or 8 along with a dogfish.  Fished maybe 7:30 to 10:00 and it was fairly constant, 95 feet was magic.  Saw one absolutely gigantic school on the chart along with a couple other good sized ones between Muk and shipwreck.

We pulled a mess of crab along with a drifting pot that the owner way happy to have back.

Probably the best weather/fun day in quite some time.
