Pinks were biting Sunday, 8/9/15 at Southworth Point. Only landed one though on a 3.5 oz silver/black/reflective jig at slack tide. The pink buzz bomb didn't draw much attention.

We fished 8-2 yesterday with my brother and 5 year old nephew from New Jersey. Ended up with 3 pinks in the boat with 4-5 LDR's and then we pulled 5 limits of crab in 7 pots. The kid managed 2 of the 3 fish himself. Dumped the 8th plugged pot back. Insane crabbing. We ate so much crab last night, it almost got ugly.

It might start looking like this:
Thats nothing, i like it when you can walk from boat to boat.. :chuckle:
And then when you hook and land a fish all of a sudden the armada turns and starts heading your direction..

I would assume quite awhile given the lack of rain to pull them up and the long range forecast shows very little rain expected for the rest of the month.
The fish we are getting now are just the early migrators, all a bit smaller than the later run fish and even the early guys are a bit late, more fish will be coming in and if we still don't have any real rain they will stack for awhile and this could be a fun fishery for another month.....or it will rain buckets and they will all head to the rivers....

You are correct CP, ALL of the fish are in that one spot. If you don't fish that exact area, you will not catch any fish.

Fishing should be good for the next 2 months. Once the pinks start to wind down the silvers will take over until mid Oct. Nov.1, kings will be legal to keep again unless the tribes "negotiate" more quota for themselves.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

It might start looking like this:

Wow, slow day.

On Sunday, we had a guy run by my starboard side at full throttle that just about swamped us.  I would guess no further than 15 feet, maybe 10.  I could have easily tossed him a sandwich he was that close.

I don't mind crowds at all, it is just the few DBs that make life interesting.  My kids have a full list of stuff they are permanently forbid from doing.

Give people as much room as you can, run on the outside of the crowds, troll the right way or at least in a predictable manner, give the guy fighting fish room and try not to pass more than 20 boats while going through the no wake zone.

I hope to try that exact route tomorrow morning. We to Muk beach last evening to toss a buzz bomb from shore and was surprised to see so few boats.  Not even any ramp entertainment.
