I killed a lot of paper plates at 100 yards in the dunes back in the 80's (I also hit a fair amount of sand).  It almost came in handy when I tried to punch an already liver hit elk at a little over 100 yards, I shaved a few hairs about 6 inches below a kill shot.  Luckily, I managed to get in front of him and did stick another arrow into a lung to finish him off.

A shot I would not do on a healthy animal however.   :rolleyes:  I'm sure my arrows were arcing way over 10 feet with that old Bear Whitetail II.  :chuckle:

That was almost maximum cast for the Whitetail II, wasn't it?  :chuckle:

I shot a mulie doe at 82 yards with my Hoyt Charger in 2013 the last year I archery hunted, before switching back to modern firearm. I double lunged her and she died about 60 yards later. I only took/made that shot because of months/hours of practicing from 20-80 yards. Farthest shot we ever put the 3D animals up at  tournament shoots was 105 yards, and was usually our Bull Moose target. I hit that one dead center in the bullseye, and I can tell you it was a very lucky shot. With todays equiptment in archery 0-80 yards is definitely a shot you can make on big game if you practice daily and keep proper shooting form.
