Question about White Pass Outfitters
« on: July 22, 2015, 07:54:16 PM »
My son drew the Any Bull Tag for Goose Prairie (modern firearm).......Oct 26-Nov8.

In the mail today he received a brochure from White Pass Outfitters.  Somehow, they get information from WDFW
on who draws these tags.

Anyway, they offer drop camps in the Wm. O. Douglas area of unit #364 (Bumping).  I did a search on WPO and found
nothing, other than their website.  Has anyone here had any experience with them?

Thanks in advance, and if you would rather PM me, that's fine.

he just got the lease, so no one will have any info on him. after jerry lost the lease they were talking about not re-issuing it. wish they wouldn't have. talked to him by phone seems like a good guy.go a little further north in the bumping and use paul Wilson of Chinook outfitters would be my advice if you want to go that route

Never heard of them.

Looked up their website and I find it odd that they have two pictures of whitetail bucks.  :dunno:

I got a bull tag, and I got the same brochure in the mail, and I went on his website and also found that odd.

call the usfs in the morning and ask to speak to the person who does the resource management stuff. I just got a notification a few days ago that he has applied for a permit and it is going under review now.

I heard that about a month ago, and about 2 weeks ago heard he got it, then the website popped up. I see he has put pictures from jerry's old website. in one of them you can even see the indian creek corrals sign

I think the guides in WY know who the tag holders are before the tag holders are notified.  Probably no different here.

I'd be a little PO'd at the WDFW for giving out my info. I do not like that at all.. I'd call WDFW and give them a piece of my mind. I'm on the do not call list and subscribe to have all junk mailed stopped.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

It's probably done under a FOIA request  :twocents:
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Any business owner has to start somewhere. Just because he is a new operator does not mean he would not provide a good trip/experience. My advice is to ask for some references and check his references regarding his abilities.  :twocents:

One other important thing, be sure he is permitted to operate on the forest, you could ask the area ranger station if he is permitted to operate. If he is permitted that will also mean he has current liability insurance as that is a requirement for being permitted on USFS.
