Chukars are looking good in north central Washington.  Haven't spent much time in hun country, but based on quail, grouse, turkeys and chukars, I'd say they are probably doing well too.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Saw about 7 or 8 young ones together about a week ago. Huns that is.

Hearing similar reports. Good to know the populations seem to be flourishing again!  Wonder if Natches is alive these days.

I was in the wenas wildlife area a few days ago and saw a good sized covey. Coyotes have eaten all the ones by natchez.

Quail numbers looking outstanding this year. I am not going to hunt them again in some of my spots to let the numbers come back up.

No. It has been so quiet that most of us in this region have been sitting on our behinds most of the summer.

Doing some scouting this morning and imo, this season will be the worst I have ever seen. What a terrible hatch and too many Coyotes running all over the place. I haven't seen a single grouse or chukar yet.

They are everywhere over by my cabin in Central WA. Huns, Chukar, Quail, and Grouse. Never seen so many in years past. Been over there the last two weekends and cant drive down the road or take a hike without having a covey run across in front of you. Saw quite a few grouse with 3-5 in a group too. Obviously this years birds, but quite a few big mature birds by themselves too. Great to see.
