Look at my setup on my Cabelas Hawken on a previous thread here.  I haven't shot it enough at long range yet to see how it works, but it definitely seems to be an improvement.  I don't agree with his choice of reticle for the front, the guy must not feel comfortable with a normal peep and post.

i havent tried it but i think that looks like an awesome idea. i have the same complaints as he does with the other set up. the only concern i would have with his suggested set up would be sight in low light conditions. might have to give it a shot. thanks.

that will clover a  lot more of the target that a fiber optic. If it worked as well as they claim, they would have offered a target comparison.

I found my post.  Here's what I've done.  Its nice because now the front sight post is small enough that it doesn't cover a whole deer at 100 yards like my old setup did.  The fiber optic is nice, but not perfect.

that looks great as well. might send you a pm when i get home and can look into this a little more. should be able to find something for a knight disc extreme you think?

I had not seen the target globe from Lyman before.  I would totally explore that idea and front site. 

I have been trying to get the hood for the fiberoptic beed from Williams to frame the beed in the same fashion as you would an archery sight in the peep.  I noticed that no one makes a site like that and Sabotloader and I have talked extensively about this.  Only thing holding me up is a new front ramp.  I took the measurements from the wrong point when I last called Williams and i just haven't re-measured and ordered.

I can't understand why someone doesn't make a hooded fiber optic front sight with a 0.01 fiber. Like archery sights have. The fiber can wrap around the hood like a bow sight also. The front sight on my knight has a huge fiber optic.
Maybe this already exists and i just can't find it?

Agreed, and no it doesn't exist.  I've been thinking about that same thing since I started this project.  Quitting my job to make it now...

Completely worthless IMO. That red optic shows the metal being out of round which will make for poor precision point of aim. The black metal around the optic also voids the point of the fiber optic. One is supposed to sight in with the very tip of the fiber optic or metal sight.

I switched from the blade and buckhorn to the small white bead and tang peep, huge difference (well for me anyways).  But like the guy said, glue/locktite the sites down if you have to.  I remember once I hammered the front in figuring that was good enough.  Then went and shot a bunch before the season, as the barrel warmed the front dovetail moved out the reverse it was hammered in.

Truglow used to make the Globe front sight which was amazing. It was hooded and had a sleeve that rotated and opened or closed off light to the fiber optic so it wasnt so bright. It was as perfect a sight you could get for a muzzy.
