Bear in monroe with an old guy!
« on: July 30, 2015, 10:53:23 AM »
My wife's best friends Dad lives in Monroe and he has had Bears come into his front yard in the past. Well he has asked me if I could come over and hunt with him for bears. I've never hunted bears before neither has he (mostly deer and ducks, geese). I have read that the wet side has lots of bears but I don't know the "ok to hunt areas". :dunno: Any advise? I don't have a lot of study time or scouting time as they asked me yesterday  >:(

Number one....can he even legally fire a weapon in the area? Bow only? Rifle? Proximity to neighbors? My number one concern if using a bow is where is the bear going after I stick it.

We weren't going to hunt at his house cause he lives close to town. Just looking for good areas to check out. Not looking for a huge bear or a sweet spot just an old guys first bear. I'm the eyes muscle and entertainment.

Head out highway 2 and hike in the mountains by Skykomish. PM me and I can give you a few lakes and trails to check out.

There's plenty of bear areas to hunt through out the valley.
