Puyallup Pinks

I saw the Tacoma Tribune article as the business are tired of the trash.  I cannot blame them. 

It will just tighten the noose to choking off areas for parking and access.  Since I live about 5 min from the river I could careless.  I only fish during the evening's after work.  I fish with good people who live in Puyallup.  If push comes to shove I would have my wife drop me off and pick me up. 

I think the parking at the soccer fields are coming to an end as well.  That should remove a lot of fisher-people from that hole.

I watched below the 66 Ave bridge on Sunday and no one was fishing there.  I asked a friend who was not fishing there as well and he said there was a ton of snags in the water.  That place was a ton of fun to fish.

OK, been a long time since I have fished in the Puyallup so be nice. Went the other day and I have completely lost my feel. I remember it being quite a bit easier to distinguish between a fish and the bottom. I know i'm touch fish just because of the sheer number of fish in the river. Help me get my feel back!

It is closed within 400' of the creek mouth in both directions.

I was at the soccer park today and spent some time up at the fruit stand.  saw a ton of fish crossing the street from the river on stringers but didn't see any fishermen return to the soccer park parking lot.

Crazy night on the Puyallup a few days ago.  A guy said he was going to stab another guy.  A person kept short casting and casting out of sequence after being told multiple times the process and he line was cut three different times.   

We were far enough away to watch but it was all interesting evening besides catching pinks.

I just looked myself and validated you correct.  I think they did that for the chum season.

Tuesday I got to see 2 guys fall in the river, and got to hear an across the river expletive shouting match that went on for like 15 minutes. Some of those guys need to seriously mellow out. Maybe they consider "confrontational fishing" fun?

Anyway, caught a few fish, kept a limit of bright bucks. Picked up 2 big bags of trash. I think most of it was from some homeless kids that seem to be living near the river.

Interesting evolution this river has seen since I started fishing it in the 70s- for steelhead.
