Practicing?
« on: August 01, 2015, 10:18:28 PM »
Are you Hunt WA hunters practicing your elk noises?  With a bit of a better early elk season in the Evergreen State this year (a better chunk of the rut) the wapiti "will be" more vocal and susceptible to calling. Are you working on your elk sounds?  RJ

I lost my pouch that holds my reads that were all tuned. Now I'm working on another set and tuning them for this season while I drive to work.

I am, but being locked out of the area I like to hunt due to fir danger seems to be putting a damper on my psych for the up coming season. With the season only about 6 weeks away, I'm tempted to put a feather in my wife's hair and have her do a rain dance. She's Filipina, but maybe Mother Nature won't notice.  :chuckle:

I practice around the house, mostly when my wife is home.  She loves that! :chuckle:

I whipped out my reeds and bugle about three weeks ago, I usually start in the spring  but I'm in the HVAC business and I've been busy. I'm stocked, I like to hunt the sw corner but if it remains closed I'll hit some op units I've hunted in the past, either way I'm pumped.

Man I wish I could still bowhunt was very successful in the 80's. Miss those bugling contests with Glen berry. I make my own elk calls but I use them for bear and cougar. Practice practice  good luck every one. Rick

Ya man I am bummed I am missing out on camp this year since we missed you last year but I am stoked to try to call a bull in for my old man. I don't want to jinx it but if he sticks one in the first few days, we will probably swing by and hang out of a night at least since I have the entire week off.
