Draw only for muleys in 101 I actually think is a good idea.

I rifle hunt. I don't think the archery season is taking away from the rifle hunters. that's the layman's term for some parts of my responses above.

Me either, thats where I think your confused with my responses. I have no problem with archery season, I would just like to see modern open for one more week.

I'm not confused with your remarks and I am ok with them. I have an understanding that someone else with a lot of political clout was able to suggest along the lines of what I briefly mentioned on the subject so that modern season was expanded and archery season was contracted.

I don't have a problem with that, I see very few there as it is. Whities have displaced them pretty well

The long archery season is taking the opportunity away from the MZ, not the modern firearm guys.
But this year in the late archery season, I was competing with MZ guys because they made our seasons the same time.

I was referring more to the early season, the late season overlap is a bunch of BS.

Ok, well I can agree with that then. MZ guys get what, 7 days for the early season? I would be fine with them cutting the early archery deer season short. I don't even really focus on deer then with my bow anyway.

I ML hunted in the 80's back when no one was doing it and loved it. Then switched to bow when more and more people decided to pick up a ML. Now I think its starting to even out a bit between bow and ML. I really prefer to hunt with a primative weapon but there is hardly any advantage anymore for hunting with a ML if you look at the seasons.

Just remember , early archery usually does get cut short on the west side with fire danger. I doubt any one can come up with "THE" solution to make everyone happy unless the ran the tag system more like Idaho does. I think something like that would resolve some issues. ?? I dunno.

What makes you guys think they are going to limit tags or put a draw system in 101. not arguing but where did you get this info, or is just a gut feeling. I think you guys are just having fun messing with me. :chuckle: I live in the darkest quietest spot in the state so I can have the advantage come hunting season and now they want to limit it.  :'(  :chuckle:
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Well what does everyone think they will be?  They are supposed to come out this week on Friday?

Will the proposal to move the elk season back, open more MZ units, start targeting those big 2 point muleys, limit the number of special hunt choices?  WE'll find out real soon.

Hey guys.  Did they come out with any updates?

I don't know, though I was wondering the same thing. I bet unless somebody from this site was there that we will have to wait until next week to find out though.

On wednesday night, I talked with a biologist about the up coming rule changes. I don't know if he knows what he is talking about, but here are a few of them rumors, remember these are just rumors. he said the folowing.
1) all late mule deer archey will go away.
2) the general rifle mule deer will go to 3or 4 days
3) elk rifle 3days also.

today I talked with other guys at a meeting and he said they wanted to get ride of the colcum( sp) all togther due to the indians killing all the elk.
I don't know if these ideas are bs or these people know what they are talking about.
just rumers ??????

I would bet rumor, they would be cutting there own throats. No one would buy a tag.
