Arizona Mule Deer : unit 27
« on: August 11, 2015, 09:23:45 AM »
Anyone ever hunted until 27? Or know anything about it. We drew a tag for the rifle hunt Oct 30 to Nov 5 I believe. Let the Google Earth scouting begin! If anyone has any info they'd be willing to share or someone they could point me towards that'd be great!

Congratulations Kyle. All I can say is STEEP. That country is some of the most remote in Arizona and some of the most beautiful. Your conditioning will be your best friend.

A road runs up the middle of it. You have the WMAT on the west and New Mexico on the east. Other than that there isn't much for road access. Its basically wilderness. I'm guessing I'm not the first to think of this but you can go into New Mexico and access some more remote parts of the unit from there  8)

That will be a fun hunt. It has been many years since I bowhunted that country. Saw quite a few nice bucks in there. Really beautiful country

We are sure looking forward to it. We have done some research and it sounds like there are a few areas with some good road access, but of course they hold more hunters. Heard it was steep in some area too.  It should be a fun hunt!
