Good-I've owned the flagship models of hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech, PSE, and elite in the past 5 years and my energy 35 is the best bow I've ever had. It's the bow that made me stop looking for another one :chuckle:. It's the best holding, most accurate, consistent, easy to shoot bow I've owned. Every day I go out it just hits where I'm aiming. The fit and finish is perfect and is holding up very well. It tuned very easily, in less then a half hour I had broadheads and field points together at 60. I love the grip, very comfortable/repeatable for me. It's about average in the noise department. I will never go back to short bows. Comes with winners choice strings which are not bad for stock strings. I usually swap my strings out with a custom set but these have been very stable with no peep rotation, so I'm sticking with them.

Not so good- the cerakote/prokote on the cams isn't very good. I haven't had any issues but it's known to flake off the cams. Cable slide tears up cables, replace immediately. At 4.5lb bare some think it's a little heavy, but once used to it I feel it gives a much steadier sight picture=accuracy.

All that being said I would wait a month for the 2016's to come out. Supposedly a Faster, lighter, and updated grip elite is coming out. And if you don't like the new ones then you will be able to pick up a new 2015 energy 35 for cheaper.

Never shot a strothers so no comment there.

Which strothers. The only bad about the strothers bows are the company is in limbo right now. The bows they have made shoot great and are very well made. Same goes for the elite bows.

Almost purchased a elite this spring, kicking myself for not doing so. From everything I'm told an excellent bow

I have a Strother SR-71, if you want speed and still shootable,  buy the Strother. If you want a slow but good shooter buy the Elite.
Avid ARCHERY deer and elk hunter.
Coyote killer in the off season.
MX Racer simi retired to practice when I can.
