7x7 bugling in my back yard 15 min.  ago. I would bugle then he would fire off. I was also cow calling from different rooms in my house and he kept moving from my front yard to back yard trying to find her. Lol

Think the archery season might be too late this year? Seemed like last year it was kind of early but with this much action as you guys are reporting I'm wondering

No bugles but plenty of rubs and saw a "big" group of cows with a young 6x6 on Saturday.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

No velvet on the larger animals at st helens.  Lots and lots of bugling.   :twocents:  Spikes were the only animals with velvet up there.

I don't know about else where but Rimrock has been real quite. Sat on a good herd last weekend and just watched. The bulls were still bachelored up even. Will be interesting to see things start changing very soon and see them split up and start separating the cows.

Bugling at night around here.  Hard to get excited about it knowing the some of the locals will have the bulls poached out soon.

I was backpacking up at Summerland around Mount Rainier last week and the Elk were bugling pretty good.
Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity.  John Muir
