Will Zen Ray be at the Sportsmen's Show?
« on: January 14, 2009, 02:19:16 PM »
I am looking for a new set of binoculars and would love to see a pair at the show next week.  Anyone know if they will be there?

I got a pair of the new Zen Ray Vista's 10 X 42 for Christmas. they are beautiful, sharp, well made, and rugged. I'm a fan.

I'd like to hear more reviews, etc.  I like 8x for general purpose magnification, and a minimum 32mm objective lens for low light.  Any recommendations on Zen Ray's line?  I bowhunt and wear my binos all day, everyday.  I like focus adjustments with "racheting" or indexed knobs so they don't bump off of focus from normal wear.

Thoughts?

Charles already knows my preference for an ideal binocular is a ZEN ED 7x36, 22 oz, minimum 400' fov.  I have a 7x36 Swift Eaglet that is just about the ideal binocular, lacking mainly the fov.  I hereby commit to ordering the first one.  A lot of times, on any particular forum, users pop up with "I wish they made..."  Well here we have an optics company who is paying attention.  From use on other forums, I am surprised how many people wish for a high quality 7x 30-something binocular.

There are many review on VISTA binoculars here. I got a pair of VISTA and enjoyed it very much. I also have a pair of ZRS in pre-order. ZEN should be the next one up. There is one review on this board. Since Charles is offering a test drive opportunity for ZEN, we will see some more reviews coming up.  Same here, I found I enjoy 8x binoculars more than anything else. It is a good balance.

I'd love a test drive opportunity...those 7x35's sound pretty nice.
