Congrats to the ladies on some great bucks   That looks to be just the door in the picture while expensive it shouldn't be too bad to get one from a junk yard, and bolt it on.  Some people are real pieces of poop out there.

Exactly what I was thinking. Common color, you could probably get a door from the bone yard and hang it and be done.

Congrats to the ladies on a pile of venison. That's great.

Thanks everybody. It was a great opening day for sure. My wife an I lost our honey hole that we hunted for the past 10 years so this was a weird year for us. I had such a good thing going I kinda didn't have a back  up spot and the ones I did have I let friends go into. That left me kinda lost when I got the boot from the other place.

Well I did some serious scouting and put up a bunch of stands and the one that was closest to town I put up on Monday night. I had seen the buck that my wife shot several times and knowing that he was not huge but he was really cool looking he made the hit list. I'm a sucker for character bucks. Well, he messed up and came into 10 yards. At 7:05 PM a double lung shot had him piled up 30 yards from the stand.

My soon to be sister in law had been watching several bucks for the past two months. They have thousands of pictures and had 3 make the hit list out of about 15 steady bucks. The wind was wrong for most of the night and they had a bunch of deer smell them. around 7pm her buck came in and it was not the first choice but it was on the list and when hunting public land you take what you can get when you can get it. I knew that the proposal was going to happen so I was super excited to get the text from my brother that said BBD!!! I eagerly awaited the next text "I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!" I was super happy for them both. It was turning into a great night.

Kaila, the girl in the middle, was hunting with her BF and they had been watching several bucks all summer as well. The nice little 4x4 was on the hit list and he came in on a string. He was shot right about 7pm.

All three deer died within sight of the stands. All three shot about the same time. It was really a special night.
