Peep sights. Info needed.

I want to put a peep on my 700ML. Do you mount it as far rearward as possible? Leave the aperature in or take it out for a larger peep hole? When sighting in does one move the peep in the direction you want the bullet to move? As I understand it my eye will automatically center the front sight and you just put the bead on the target. Is this correct? Please tell me anything else I need to know about peep sights. I am wanting to go to the peep because my eyesight is not so good anymore and conventional sights are a little fuzzy on the target.

yeah, the farther the separation between front and rear sight, generally will give you the best accuracy (but more clicks to adjust).  Smaller apertures are also considered to be more for accurate shooting...but reduce field of view--not as great on quickly acquiring targets or in low light.
Just move the direction you want it to go, like you said.

My 700ML has the peep mounted to those 2 holes on the left side of the receiver.  Think it was a Lyman sight

The smaller the hole the better shot you will be. It is hard to see during low light that's when its a good idea to take it out.

We would always put the smaller aperture in while sighting in and then remove it for hunting.  Your eye will naturally center the bead in the rear peep, so you can concentrate on holding the bead on the target.
