mission fill the freezer
« on: September 06, 2015, 06:40:34 PM »
This year its all about meat.went on our first official deer hunt and it was crazy. Got rearended, got a flat with the wrong tools on board (thank god for great buddies).decided to go check an area out that we've never hunted.spotted a doe bedded at sixty yards. I sent my buddy to make some noise.she kept her eyes on him the hole time.got to ten yards and no shot there was a log blocking everything but her neck. So one step at a time she finally stood at six yards. Drilled her first ever heart shot.niw the bad part. Right after the shot a gour point and abut eight other deer stood and bolted. The four point was at twenty yards and I didn't even see him.oh well two miles to the truck and we were done.can't wait for the elk opener.

Good job. I never pass on the first day of season an animal I would be happy to shot on the last. Trophies are for the second tag (if you have one).
