The PCT at that point is the dividing line between GMUs 249 and 460. Fall bear season is open in both units from August 1 through November 15.

Expect to see more hikers than bears around the Katwalk.  Even at this time of year.
Friend: "Are you free tonight?"
Me:  (Gazing into the distance as a bald eagle screeches)  "I'm always free"

A lot of the PCT thru hikers are already past Snoqualmie Pass. My friend just made it to Canada from the start 3 weeks ago. You will however see a lot of day hikers and long weekend hikers this time of the year, but don't let that deter you from your hunts.
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.
